Congratulations to Peter Kasprzak for receiving a Pawsitive Bear Call home from Mr. Medley. Mrs. Stallbaumer said that Peter has been working very hard on his reading goal and when things seem to be getting hard, Peter stays positive and tries different books! Nicely done Peter!!

What a welcoming committee we were greeted with this morning!! Our own St. Marys High School Cheer Team welcomed every member of our Bear Family this morning like we were the Kansas City Chiefs headed onto the field! Thank you SMHS Cheer Squad for the morning motivation!!

John WIll, a retired Kansas home builder and carpenter visited SMGS to drop off custom made lincoln log cabins and building block sets for our younger grades and sped classes. These are truly incredible and displays such craftsmanship and love for woodworking. Our students will have so much fun building and creating with these durable sets! A HUGE thank you to John for the incredible gift!!

Play Cafe’s fall programming started today with a playgroup at SMGS. A terrific group of moms and littles gathered this morning for finger painting, singing, playing, and more. We are predicting lots of fun, learning, and smiles each time we get together! Play Cafe’s next playgroup will be Monday, September 9 at RGS from 9-11am.

First Friday Families for 2024 where new students were joined with their Forever Bear Family. New students were seated around the campfire and Mr. Medley handed them their secret map used to navigate their ways to their Bear Families. Let the adventures begin!!

First Pawsitive Office Referral of the year goes to 5th grader, Keegan DeVader. Mrs. Griffin reported to Mr. Medley that Keegan has actively participated in class discussions, turns in his assignments on time, and even peer teaches when his assignments are completed. What a great role model! Way to to Keegan!

3rd grade is learning about corn and how to plant their own in the classroom! Mr. Kerwin, a local farmer, came into the third grade classroom today to answer students questions about corn and farming. The third graders had so many great questions and learned so much about what it takes to grow their own corn! A huge thank you to Mr. Kerwin!

Learning latitude and longitude playing Battleship.

Can I please just say how much fun arriving to work is when you are welcomed with new critters each day. Cheryl, you are exceptional!

1st Graders were treated with the poetic reading of "The Principal's New Suit" by Mr. Medley. As an act of gratitude, students designed their own versions of the perfect suit for Mr. Medley.
Competition for the best suit was fierce, impossible really--so he wore them all!!
