Last spring, K-2 students researched and planned a pollinator garden for the school as part of our project based learning. Kansas Native Plant Society donated plants and the maintenance team has quickly responded to our request for a raised flower bed next to our Outdoor Classroom to plant them in. Our hardworking SMGS children got to work planting beautiful plants and learned why our pollinators are important.
Next up, the plan is to install a rainwater collection barrel and have it water the garden!!

Our friends Fireman Dan and Mascot Marshall visited SMGS for Fire Prevention and Safety week. They visited with K-4th grade to guide students on what to look out for and how to navigate what happens when there is a fire nearby. Thank you to SMFD for keeping us all safe!!

The fall PTCs are scheduled for the week of 9/30-10/3. Meeting times for your children's teachers at SMGS will be Monday and Wednesday. This year, instead of scheduling through Classtag we have a Sign-up Genius that includes all teachers schedules for Monday and Wednesday. The link is provided below. You will notice at the top of the page are the teachers to select and schedule with. We hope you find this easier to navigate from teacher to teacher and view schedules and book your time slot. Fall PTCs are NOT student-led and are intended for the teacher and parent.
Please make sure to take advantage of Family Activity Night that will be running concurrently where students, with their families, can play games and join activities.
