Congratulations to Seamus, Amelia, & Eve for their participation in the KMEA All State Choir. They represented SMGS joining other students from the state of Kansas putting on a fantastic performance. Congrats to them and to Mr. Yoho for his help in preparing these students!

Next week is Read Across America Week which is a nationwide effort to celebrate reading and reinforcing the importance of reading with a focus on young children. Dr. Seuss's birthday is on Sunday, March 2nd as well!
To celebrate and promote reading, we are going to have a spirit week at SMGS.

2nd graders in Ms. Strole’s class got to put their learning into real life action during math. They got to measure various objects in their classroom and write down their measurements in both meters and centimeters!
Mrs. Todd’s kindergarten class played a fun game where students got to go to the front of the class with a letter on their head. The rest of the class would make the sound that letter made and then the student would try and guess what letter it was using those clues. Fun way to get everyone engaged!
Today Ollie got a Pawsitive Call home from Mr. Medley! Since returning from Christmas break, Mrs. Hammer reports that Ollie has shown great improvements in OT. He comes to her classroom ready to learn and works hard. He recently has mastered INDEPENDENTLY writing his first name! Keep up the amazing work Ollie!!

6th grade families competed in a speed puzzling event Saturday evening. Congratulations to the Kincaid family for taking first place! Special thanks to Casey's for donating pizza and Doug's Pharmacy for donating the prize.
