Washburn Tech Summer Camp registration is finally open! For those parents/guardians who are registering for the camp please make sure they fill out the Parent/guardian contract form which is located on the Summer Camp page as well. Washburn University Summer Camps
Washburn's Mulvane Art Museum Art Lab will be hosting a Kids' Summer Art Camp for 7–13 year olds July 15 – 18 featuring a guest artist and plenty of fun art-making activities! This four-day camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day with snacks provided. Registration is $100. Students in grades 7 and 8 will attend the camp June 9 -12 and students in grades 9 and 10 will attend June 16 -18, 20. What better place to explore careers in construction, health care, human services, technology and transportation than at Washburn Tech! In the same environment as the students in their certificate programs, your child will receive hands-on instruction in a variety of areas. Music Washburn University's Music & Theatre Department offers summer opportunities for students to practice and perform. The jazz camp will focus on improvisation, small group performance, jazz theory and many other related skills associated with the Jazz idiom. Double Reed Day Camp Dr. Emily Foltz and Dr. Austin Way, Washburn University faculty members, will guide students 1 – 4 p.m. July 12 Room 220 of the Garvey Fine Arts Center on the Washburn Campus on the oboe and/or bassoon and learn basic technique. Students may consider checking out an instrument from their school to bring to the event. There will also be instruments available on site. Reeds will be provided. Washburn University Total Percussion Camp The 20th Annual Washburn University Total Percussion Camp is July 15 – 19, 2025. The WUTPC is unlike any other camp in the area, providing students with concerts and clinics in multiple areas of percussion. Students will engage in hands on instruction covering marching percussion, drumset, concert percussion, samba band and more. They will experience professional concerts (open to the public) in the evenings. On the final day students will perform a concert featuring the WUTPC student drumlines, percussion ensembles, and Mass Percussion Ensemble (all students, and camp instructors). Washburn Summer Keyboard Academy Join the fine Washburn University faculty and guest artists for Washburn Summer Keyboard Academy (WSKA) July 28 – Aug. 1, 2025! Washburn Summer Keyboard Academy is a camp that focuses on the study and performance of piano and organ. Students entering grades 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and college are eligible to participate. Eligible students must have taken at least two years of consecutive private lessons and must be able to read music. Along with daily lessons, students participate in keyboard workshops, recreational activities, music history/literature classes, performance classes and designated practice time. They have opportunities to listen to artist-level performances, and they will perform a student gala concert in White Concert Hall!
